Last Sunday July 17th I did my first spring triathalon. Here
we are at 5am setting up our station.
This was Shane's first race one year ago, he is up to
5 triathalons now. I was defiently nervous about the day.
You have to put your number on you arm and back of one
of your legs. Then on the other leg they put you age, great
now everyone knows how old I am. We were trying to look tough,
but I knew this was going to kick my butt.
My friend Nicole who is also a college student did it with us too!
I thought that was so amazing, I never even knew what a triathalon
was when I was in college, or wanted to do something like this. It
Let me just tell you the swim was the hardest thing I have
ever done. I thought I was prepared but I so wasn't. I survived
but I honestly didn't think I could finish it and was going to
have to go to one of the canoe to take me in. With the grace
of God I slowly but surely made my way in.

I couldn't even run like a lot of people do. I was moving slow
trying to catch my breath. Now on to the bike.
When I came to the finish line Christian ran out and
started running with me. It made it worth it when I saw
him and Elise cheering for me.
We left Elise behind. I should have grabbed her, I guess
she was chasing after us but couldn't keep up so
If you don't know what a sprint triathalon is:
The swim is 750 meters, 12 miles on your bike, and
then a 3 mile run. After I finished I said I wasn't going
to do another one. By the next morning I changed my mind
and thought about all the things I will do differently next time
and planning on how I can improve.
