Running and camping we will go...

This past weekend we headed down to Prescott. I signed up

to run the 10-K and so we decided to make a weekend out

of it and camp out for two night.

My friend Nicole ran with me so she stayed at our campsite

the night before the race. I have a friend who let us borrow

their pop-up tent trailer and it made the whole experience

so much better. I love camping!!

The race was great. It was the perfect day to run. This is

one of the harder races in Arizona because of the hilly course

and it was tough. I was so excited to run with Nicole because

this was the furthest she has ever run. Then we headed back

to our campsite for another day and night of chillin' out.

Our good friends joined us for the rest of the weekend

We went on a hike Sunday morning and the dads had

the kids on the lease for a little laugh. The boys

thought it was so funny.

The kids were a dirty flithy mess the whole weekend. It is

so funny how kids could care less. And that is the fun in camping.

You have to get a little dirty--- it is good for the soul.

We hope to start doing this a lot more because it is such

a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of life.

Yes, camping is fun and for us it helps bring us all closer. There are times I tell Micah "okay it's time to go camping again things are getting a little crazy with the kids" Most of the time we have one that doesn't want to go but by the end of it all they had fun and we all end up a little closer again. :)
